The handbook's description of this structure
The course is structured in two parts: Part A. Core and project studies and Part B. Elective studies.
Part A. Core and project studies (42 credit points)
These studies will provide you with the core epidemiological, mathematical and statistical foundations required for biostatistical practice and study of advanced biostatistical methods. The core units provide theoretical and practical experience in calculus, probability distributions, computing, statistical inference and regression modelling. These studies also involve a capstone biostatistics practical project which extends your knowledge and skills into a specific practical research problem guided by a professional biostatistician, enabling a rich work experience opportunity.
Part B. Elective studies (30 credit points)
Part B allows you to choose five elective units, at least three of which must be from the list of EPM coded units provided.
Course progression map
The course progression map provides guidance on unit enrolment for each semester of study.
Units are 6 points unless otherwise stated.
