Overview
In this unit, you will be exposed to cooperative and mutual enterprises (CMEs), a very successful type of purpose-driven business model that exists in a range of industry sectors in Australia. As purpose-driven organisations, CMEs focus not on profit maximising behaviour and activities but on “profit for purpose”, balancing commercial and social goals to create value for their members and other stakeholders. You will examine a range of topical business issues in CMEs and learn, through classroom workshops and an Immersion Experience, how CMEs adapt and manage these business issues.
