Overview

A variety of purpose driven business models exist which combine commercial and social value creation in the Australian and global economy. These social business models can include cooperative and mutual enterprises (CMEs), social enterprises and non-governmental organisations. As purpose-driven organisations, these businesses focus not on profit or surplus maximising behaviour but on “profit for purpose”, balancing commercial and social goals to create value for their members and other stakeholders. You will examine a range of topical business issues through classroom workshops and practical case based applications.
