Synopsis

In this unit, you will examine the impacts of new and future media technologies. You will engage with important contemporary debates about the role of specific technologies in civil society. Using global case studies, you will engage with important contemporary debates about how new technologies produce data and information as valuable resources, and how data and information are being incorporated into government and institutional policies and practices. You will develop the skills necessary to understand the interplay between technology and policy, and learn to anticipate and evaluate future trends in the regulation of technology.
