Overview
This unit examines major trends shaping the media industries. It will explore the political and economic dimension of the contemporary global media industries. Looking in detail at the evolution of the media industries, this unit will consider key theories and debates relating to media production, ownership, regulation, and business models. You will explore case studies relating to media and communications industries from around the globe, which may include film, television, journalism, advertising, social and streaming industries.
