Overview

This unit examines major political, economic and cultural trends shaping the media industries. Looking in detail at the growth and evolution of the media industries, this unit considers key theories and debates relating to media production, ownership, regulation, and business models. Students explore case studies relating to media and communications industries from around the globe, which may include film, television, journalism, advertising, social media and streaming industries.
