Overview

This unit examines the impacts of new media technologies, and technologies that are yet to come. The unit engages with important contemporary debates about the role of specific technologies in civil society. Using global case studies, the unit engages with important contemporary debates about how new technologies produce data and information as valuable resources, and how data and information are being incorporated into government and institutional policies and practices. You will develop the skills necessary to understand the interplay between technology and policy, and gain the capacity to anticipate and evaluate future trends in the regulation of technology.
