Overview
Translators and language professionals in the 21st Century are increasingly required to do more than translate texts. They play varied roles within translation and localisation processes, including as project managers, editors, revisers, and terminologists. This unit explores translation project management covering the pre-translation, translation and post-translation stages. It also teaches you how to approach the business of translation from the perspectives of both a project manager and freelance translator. The unit requires you to apply project management skills and principles to a scenario-based learning activity: a six-week long simulated translation project undertaken in teams.
