Synopsis
This unit offers you a chance to engage with cutting-edge technologies in translation and multilingual communication. You will develop the skills necessary to work effectively with computer-assisted translation and machine translation tools in professional contexts. You will also be equipped with the expertise to critically assess the effectiveness of technologies for client needs and discuss the evolving role of the language professional in increasingly automated environments. The unit will include a core module on screen media translation and other multimodal translation, exploring real-world issues around language diversification, localisation and accessibility, whilst developing your hands-on technical skills to produce translated media products.
