Prerequisite: APG5875, APG5608 & APG5155. Students must have received a mark of 75% or more for APG5875 to progress to this unit.
Overview
The project consists of an annotated translation of approximately 8,000 words, with a substantial critical introduction (written in English) of at least 2,000 words. You may opt to translate a series of set texts from a variety of genres (e.g., scientific, medical, legal, technical, governmental, creative) with a view to practicing and developing your translation skills to a professional level. If you wish to focus more on literary and/or cultural translation you may select one main text, or a series of shorter texts. You will have fortnightly online group supervision sessions as well as contact with a specialist supervisor. You will be expected to translate into your A language.
