Architecture design studio 3
ARC2001
Synopsis
This unit provides opportunities for you to encounter emerging design challenges and contexts in a vertically integrated, semester-long studio project. The studio expands prior emphasis on design processes and sensitive responses to complex architectural issues, including investigation of material, structure, program, site, form, history and representation in architecture.
Studies will focus on developing an increasingly sophisticated understanding of design as explorative material practices, a visual language articulated through 2 and 3 dimensional representations and a process of cultural production. This will involve developing an approach that responds to occupant, site, and context, and considers connections to key social, political, and environmental challenges.
