Architecture design studio 4
ARC2002
Synopsis
This unit provides opportunities for you to explore emerging design challenges and contexts in a vertically integrated, semester-long studio project. The unit continues the emphasis on design processes encompassing a range of complex issues inherent in the production of architecture - material, structure, program, site, history and representation will be investigated in relation to the production of architectural form.
This unit continues to enhance the development of architectural designs through the three-dimensional and material testing of ideas. Studies in the unit will maintain their focus on developing a broader understanding of design as a visual language and process of cultural production. This will involve developing an approach that responds to a detailed understanding of occupant, site, and context, and addresses connections to broader social, political, and environmental challenges.
