Architecture design studio 6
ARC3002
Synopsis
This unit provides opportunities for you to test and propose new approaches to emerging design challenges and contexts in a vertically integrated, semester-long studio project. It increases the emphasis on architectural design as a process of investigation, critical observation, and experiment encompassing a range of complex issues inherent in the production of architecture.
Studies in the unit will maintain a focus on testing and resolving design as a visual language and process of cultural production, as well as a set of tools and practices that support engagement with broader communities. You will develop an approach that responds to a detailed understanding of community and context, and addresses defined connections to a range of emerging social, political, and environmental challenges. You will be able to understand the context of your emerging design approach, and your relationship and connection to design practices in the broader built environment.
