Overview
This unit extends fundamental concepts in contemporary music practice by requiring students to undertake a study of diverse repertoire. Students explore the basics of stagecraft, including stage set-up, sound systems, microphone technique, performance anxiety, and problem solving across a variety of styles and genres. Students are introduced to aspects of small ensemble work and continue the use of audio-visual recordings in their practice and develop their self-reflexive skills via a personal ePortfolio. This details their performance objectives throughout this and subsequent performance units, enhancing their skills in self-directed practice.
