Overview
In this unit, students explore and apply an intersectional understanding of gender. Students examine the role and relationship of gender across disciplines, socio-cultural contexts and their own lived experiences. Students build their awareness of the power structures that impact their daily lives by exploring the cultural debates around issues such as Motherhood, rethinking family, gender and work, victimisation, consent, and reproductive rights. Students reflect on their own experiences and observations and connect these to the theories and frameworks explored in the unit.
