Overview

In this unit you will build on the work of level 1 Global Studies units by adopting a more practical focus on the role of agency in social change across a number of local and global issues that affect young people. You will examine and critique the l approaches and methods adopted by different social movements, such as feminist, anti-racist and climate action movements in a range of historical, linguistic, cultural, and geographical settings. You will develop the skills necessary to critically engage with and synthesise a range of interdisciplinary sources and practical approaches to social change through tutorial activities and individual and group assessments.

This unit will provide you with opportunities to work with peers in groups and pairs in class. They will have interactive discussions to deepen your knowledge and understanding of the topic, and reinforce your learning.

This unit includes case-based teaching, where you apply your knowledge and engage in analytical and reflective thinking to solve complex contextual scenarios. Activities are often designed so that there is not one clear answer, but students need to work together to examine, analyse and make decisions to resolve the situation.
