Synopsis
In this unit you will develop composition and music technology skills for screen and other media contexts, including film, social media, and live performance. You will analyse existing screen music using various theoretical frameworks, compose music for different screen-based formats, develop songwriting skills for screen contexts, and foundational mastering skills. You will also develop interdisciplinary collaborative skills through working with students from other disciplines such as film or game development on original projects. By the end of the unit, you will have created works across multiple media formats, developed critical listening and analysis skills specific to screen composition, and gained experience in both collaborative creation and live performance contexts.
