Overview
The unit provides you with a fundamental understanding of what English as an international language (EIL) is from an applied linguistics perspective, and it allows you to conduct a small-scale project on topics of your interest in the area of English as an international language. You will also have the opportunity to learn and critique current issues regarding English as an international language. This unit helps you to develop relevant knowledge and competence in conducting EIL project related activities, and explore how English operates as an international language in multilingual and multicultural contexts.
