Overview

The unit will introduce you to a number of basic conceptual and practical issues in Chinese translation studies. It is aimed at improving your intercultural and inter-lingual communication skills through various translation projects and critical reading of a range of different representations of Chinese translation works. The integration of classroom teaching and translation projects will encourage you to apply the basic translation skills you learn in the classroom to translation practice. Small group discussion encourages you to discuss some common conceptual and practical issues of translation among yourselves.
