Co-requisite: Must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics single and double degrees.
Pre-requisite: Must have completed ATS1050 and ATS1053 prior to enrolling in this unit.

Overview
This unit is designed exclusively for PPE students. The study tour will immerse you in the political, philosophical and economic issues of a major society in the Indo-Pacific region. PPE students will meet with and learn from academics and practitioners in the fields of politics, philosophy and economics, including think tanks and non-governmental organisations. In so doing, you will analyse the causes and consequences of the changing power dynamics in Australia’s geo-political region, and comprehend the political, philosophical and economic perspectives of the host country. By the end of this study abroad, PPE students will have a comprehension of the social and economic forces shaping the coming century and the diverse ideas emerging to interpret this change.

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher directed learning, peer directed learning and online engagement.
You will participate in at least four day-long field trips in and around New Delhi led by Monash staff and local collaborators.
Interactive lectures will be followed by interactive seminars that draw together the political, philosophic and economic dimensions of the lecture content.
You will focus on the destination country in general, and aspects of that society in particular, using Politics, Philosophy and Economics as conceptual lenses for analysis.
