Spanish proficient 1

In this unit you will gain more advanced writing, speaking, listening and reading comprehension skills, enabling you to become proficient communicators through emphasis on the production of written and spoken Spanish in particular. You will extend your grammatical competence with more sophisticated language structures, with stress placed on the use of the indicative and subjunctive in subordinate clauses and your awareness of different discourses and registers. In the culture component, you will develop a more in-depth understanding of the social, historical, political and cultural issues that have shaped the cultures and peoples of the Spanish-speaking world through analyses of Spanish/Latin American films and/or literature.
