Prerequisite: Twelve credit points of second-year Arts units. It is highly recommended that students only take this unit after they have completed two gateway units in Sociology.

Overview
The environmental challenges that confront society are staggering in their pace, scope and complexity. In this unit we explore the critical problem of global environmental change as a social process. We draw on key perspectives in environmental sociology to understand the challenges we face and how to work toward solutions. We explore issues such as the economy and consumerism and the broader social changes needed to create sustainable societies.
