Global correspondent

ATS3795

Synopsis

The unit involves a program of visits and/or project in collaboration with international organisations, carried out in-country overseas. The destination country is allocated by staff each year, and varies from developing nations to highly industrialised contexts. The unit begins online, where you delve into the history, politics and culture of the study-tour country, and gain an understanding of how the domestic and international news media operate in that context. You then attend an intensive workshop held at Monash University (Caulfield campus) to advance your skills in journalism practice, research and/or project management. You will then travel to the study-tour country, where you will carry out a program of visits and/or collaborative project.
