Planning urban mobility futures

Synopsis
This unit introduces you to contemporary issues in the planning of urban transport systems and urban mobility. The concept of sustainable mobility is introduced along with the steps in the transport planning process. Supply and demand-oriented approaches to addressing transport challenges are reviewed and travel demand management is placed into context. The characteristics of passenger and freight modes are considered and factors influencing the level, pattern and trends in travel demand are examined.
