Overview
This unit supports the final stage of your self-directed design project. As the second part of your year-long Honours program, you will apply research through design processes alongside advanced creative and practice-based skills particular to your area of design specialisation or practice. Through studio-based self-initiated study, supported by a supervisory team and a peer-to-peer learning environment, you will respond critically to a research opportunity; employ appropriate research methodologies; and produce specialist understanding relevant to your project. The unit is designed to support independent enquiry directed towards the realisation of a design research project, in the form of a major creative output and accompanying exegesis, that demonstrates advanced theoretical and practice-based knowledge in your area of design and capacity to pursue further, higher-degree research.
