This unit introduces the fundamental principles of microeconomics and their application in real-world business contexts. Topics include opportunity cost, supply and demand, consumer and firm behaviour, market structures, and welfare analysis. You will also explore government policy impacts and critically examine sources of market failure. Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study.
