Overview
In this unit you select a preferred topic on which to conduct original research after consulting with the coordinator and supervisors. During the year you participate in research workshops that give high-level overviews of the major components involved in researching applied economic topics. You will then independently identify and develop the specific skills required to address their research question under the guidance of their supervisor, with in-class milestones set out throughout the year to ensure the timely completion of the project. The milestones include matching with a supervisor, proposing the research question, proposing a detailed research plan in written and oral form, conducting the research and preparing drafts, giving a final presentation of the research findings and submitting their own final research paper.
