An introduction to the study of economics from a macroeconomic perspective including the following areas of study: trade in a global village, GDP as National Income and Aggregate Expenditure, savings and investment, unemployment, money and the monetary system, aggregate demand and supply in the short and long run, monetary and fiscal policy.

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class.
