Synopsis
This unit is designed to develop and enhance your teaching practice. With its focus on assessment to support effective learner centered teaching, the unit begins by demonstrating effective approaches to assessment and ends with opportunities to enact approaches to assessment that impact student learning and or effective teaching. Central to this unit, is the exploration of: the various dimensions of and approaches to formal and informal assessment and how data is gathered, evaluated, moderated and deployed to support learning and; how resources can be used to support assessment approaches, communication and reporting with a focus on learners and learning. The unit models effective approaches to assessment, informed by research, and provides opportunities for learners to practice the enactment of effective assessment strategies.
