Synopsis
This unit explores a range of pedagogical practices associated with the provision of sport and movement education. You will critically explore traditional and contemporary principles that underpin sport, physical and fitness education practices applied to school and community settings and consider their use within broader frameworks for physical activity participation. You will apply concepts in practical movement settings that may include dance, gymnastics, games and lifestyle exercise-based programs. You will also have the opportunity to plan, deliver and critique a series of lessons utilising the Sport Education pedagogy. Within this, you will be supported to differentiate your teaching to support learners across a spectrum of abilities, include students with a variety of disabilities, and consider how to provide meaningful feedback and assessment to support learning.
