Learning design methodologies

EDF2401

Synopsis

Learning designers utilise a variety of processes to guide the creation of learning experiences - from first ideas to final evaluations. This unit will introduce you to key design models and methodologies commonly employed in the industry including ADDIE, Design Thinking and the Agile framework. These methodologies can be implemented to successfully ensure all aspects of educational design are incorporated into projects and provide a framework for determining project specifications.

In this unit, you will have the opportunity to work in groups to design project plans, negotiate and meet deadlines, and report on project status using at least one of these methodologies. These skills are critical for learning designers and provide you with the ability to ensure work is delivered on time and as requested, whether the project is your own or you are working with a large group of collaborators.

This unit provides foundational information on learning design theories and expands your skills as a worker. It will support you in your industry engagement units as well as other units in which you develop learning artefacts and course designs.
