Planning and teaching science

The unit has a strong focus on planning and assessment in science teaching and is designed to build on the experiences of the Foundation Science unit through the development of comprehensive science teaching sequences built around big ideas in science. The unit works to develop understanding of the relationship between science conceptual knowledge, curriculum and assessment. Teaching sequences are developed drawing from constructivist learning theory and inquiry approaches to science learning.
