Synopsis

This unit is designed to expand your thinking about key aspects of the work of a science leader within an education setting. The learning experiences are designed to enable you to draw together: the work you have completed in your science education studies to date; the insights of professionals working in the roles of a school based science leader; and, the expertise of others working outside formal education settings. Key areas of learning include familiarisation with relevant government policies and initiatives in science education, the role of a school based science leader, planning and leading professional learning, exploring the impact of cultural identity in science education, engaging school communities and building mutually beneficial partnerships to enhance science education.
