Research project in education

EDF4101

Synopsis

This unit builds your capacity to research teaching and learning in particular educational settings. You will demonstrate your capacity to work with data ethically through an analysis task. This is focused on examining data from an education setting generated for particular purposes via a range of select methods, e.g. via self-study, action research, or participant observation, focus groups or interviews with stakeholders, analysis of documents or other artefacts, etc. You will apply and hone your developing research skills through a small-scale project designed to inform your own educational practice. Finally, you will demonstrate a clear and coherent exposition of the knowledge and insights you have gained about research processes and outcomes through a poster presentation of your findings to your peers and tutors, followed by a reflection task.
