Media education in the secondary years A

This unit prepares specialist teachers of media to teach in secondary schools. Drawing on a range of national and international research, the unit introduces you to media education perspectives and issues. These would include ways of integrating studies in news media, film making and critical media studies, including critical media literacy. The unit provides opportunities to engage in your specialised knowledge, with a view to the development of secondary school curriculum. The unit prepares you to expand your knowledge to best approach the changing media landscape and to support secondary school students to understand the challenges of media literacy in the contemporary world.
