Synopsis

This unit is designed for pre-service teachers who are specialising in Mathematics and Numeracy teaching in primary schools. The content enables you to deepen and extend your mathematics and numeracy professional knowledge, professional practice and professional engagement. You will explore issues that support or hinder successful mathematics learning, and practices to address these in primary schools. You will critically examine child-centred inclusive teaching approaches that are relevant for 21st century mathematics learners. You will engage with local and international mathematics educational research and policy to inform the development of your knowledge for leading collaborative mathematics planning teams.
