Overview
Energy resources, chain, and energy conversion processes; non-renewable (fossil, nuclear) and renewable (photovoltaic, wind, hydro-, biomass) sources of energy; environmental impact of electricity generation; energy storage technologies; direct and indirect energy conversion; overview of the world and Australian energy production and consumption; the future energy scenarios.

Scheduled activities may include a combination of teacher-directed learning, peer-directed learning and online engagement. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities.

Technology resources
You should have access to a WINDOWS 10 computer (either laptop or desktop) as a simulation tool to be used in the assignments can only be installed and run on a Windows 10 operating system (Note: Mac OS is not supported). Accessing the software through Lab PC/MoVE has NOT been confirmed yet (as of 24th Nov 2020). You should regularly check the Moodle site and Monash emails for updates and information related to this unit.
