Overview
This unit introduces you to the many concepts, tools and techniques for managing information technology projects. Exploring traditional and agile approaches for managing projects, topics include project lifecycles, project planning, project scheduling, team building, risk management, time and quality management. A case study approach will be used to provide learning opportunities, with an emphasis on the unique aspects of information technology projects.

When you finish this unit, you should be able to:

Semester 2 2025 onwards: Apply the principles of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) to modern IT projects;
Pre-Semester 2: Apply the 10 Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) areas to modern IT projects;

Create IT project governance & compliance frameworks needed to manage modern IT projects;

Recommend project management and critical thinking strategies and techniques for modern IT projects;

Semester 2, 2025 onwards: 4 - Create a collaborative IT project plan using the PMBOK guidelines for a given case-study;
Pre- Semester 2: Create a collaborative ICT project plan using the PMBOK areas for a given case-study;
