Overview
This unit is the second stage of a cohesive, multi-unit practice program in which you continue working within your student-led company and take greater responsibility for contributing to real projects, products and services. Building on your initial onboarding and role formation, you will become more deeply integrated into your team(s), contribute to shared delivery goals, and develop the project practices needed to coordinate work in a larger organisation-like environment.
You will apply project management practices to help define, plan, track and review work, including clarifying objectives, managing tasks and dependencies, identifying risks, documenting progress, responding to feedback, and contributing to delivery decisions. You will also strengthen your collaboration capability by working across roles and teams, coordinating with others, resolving blockers, and contributing to the shared systems, processes and culture that enable your company to function effectively.
The unit expands your engagement with responsible professional practice, with a focus on security, privacy and ethical considerations in the conduct of computing work. You will consider how professional responsibilities are applied within real project contexts, including how decisions affect stakeholders, data, systems, teams and the broader community.
Assessment continues to be centred on an evidence-based portfolio demonstrating your individual contribution, professional development and growing capability. You will use this portfolio to show how you are applying and advancing relevant skills from your enrolled course, and major where relevant, through meaningful contribution to company work. By the end of the unit, you should be able to contribute with increasing confidence and reduced guidance, while being prepared for later practice units where you will take on greater leadership, strategic and company-level responsibility.
