Overview
This unit will provide you with the knowledge, tools and skills to understand how Green Chemistry transforms the chemical industry. At the interface between technology and business models, you can explore the basis for innovation and growth in the chemical sector. Topics covered include business model design, operations management, circular economy principles, the regulatory environment, intellectual property, ethics, social factors, introduction to “Moore’s Law for Chemistry”, (MLFC). Innovation in the chemical industry and Life Cycle Analysis.
During the course you will apply your learning to a series of experiential activities that address and provide solutions to emerging difficulties in a chemical business. The activities include analysis and discussion of case studies and scenarios that illustrate how green chemistry principles can transform the industry. Assessment includes group project/scenario analysis submissions, oral presentations and individual assessment tasks.
