Overview
This unit will provide you with the knowledge, tools and skills to understand how Green Chemistry and sustainable technologies transform chemical industry. At the interface between technology and business models, you can explore the basis for innovation and growth in the sector. Topics covered include business model design, operations management, circular economy principles, the regulatory environment, intellectual property, ethics, social factors, introduction to “Moore’s Law for Chemistry” (MLFC), innovation in industry and Life Cycle Analysis.
During the unit you will apply your learning to a series of experiential activities that address and provide solutions to emerging difficulties in industry. The activities include analysis and discussion of case studies and scenarios that illustrate how green chemistry principles and sustainable technologies can transform the industry. Assessment includes group project/scenario analysis submissions, oral presentations and individual assessment tasks

Apply green/sustainable chemistry principles to circular economy initiatives life cycle analysis, and propose realistic solutions that can be adopted by industry;

Engage, with a progressive voice, in regulatory discussions that will facilitate government and industry cooperation
