Overview

This unit explores engagement and talent management in contemporary organisations. The learning content aims to develop inquiry and capabilities that are necessary to attract, select, develop and retain employees for greater workplace engagement. The unit examines theories of engagement using a future focused lens of talent management. It critically analyses strategic approaches to underpin sustainable organisational practice that is poised to lead organisations through periods of uncertainty and change.

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. This unit engages students in actively applying their knowledge, skills and attributes in interactive, collaborative and reflective activities.

This unit includes problem-based learning approaches, where students engage in research, integrate theory and practice and apply knowledge and skills to develop viable solutions in response to a problem or set of problems.
