Leadership, education and quality improvement in nursing and midwifery practice
MID4002
Synopsis
In this unit, you will synthesise educational theories and their application in midwifery and nursing practice. You will use research literacy skills to plan, design, and deliver evidence-based learning experiences for your peers.
You will examine and evaluate quality improvement initiatives within midwifery and nursing practice. By examining leadership theories, models, frameworks, and styles that support woman and person-centred care, you will evaluate the leadership roles of midwives and nurses in preparation for future healthcare practice.
You will also demonstrate clinical competence by aligning your practice with the NMBA Midwife Standards for Practice, the Code of Conduct for Midwives, and the ICM International Code of Ethics for Midwives.
