Advancing midwifery practice
MID5005
Synopsis
Advancing Midwifery Practice is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to become leaders in the provision and implementation of woman-centred midwifery care. In this unit you will look at the global context of maternity care while considering the role of the midwife in providing quality care through education, evidence-based research and leadership. Throughout this unit you will further examine how these three areas are increasingly important in advancing midwifery practice in both the local and global context. You will have the opportunity to reflect on your current professional practice, while recognising the key principles necessary for advancing quality midwifery care.
