Synopsis
Cancer nursing requires specialised skills and knowledge to provide care to the complex needs of patients with cancer.
This unit introduces the advanced knowledge and skills required of specialist cancer nurses, enabling you to implement contemporary and advanced nursing practice to provide optimal and holistic, person-centred care.
This unit includes topics such as the epidemiology of cancer across the lifespan, diagnosis of cancer and goals of care, evidence-based treatment of cancer including new and emerging treatment, effective nursing management of complications of cancer, and treatment including oncology emergencies.
