This unit builds upon the foundations established in unit NUR5016 and extends your knowledge of advanced cancer nursing care using an evidence-based approach.
This unit will prepare you to provide advanced care to cancer patients, symptom management and end of life care.
The role of the specialist cancer nurse in the multidisciplinary team is examined including clinical leadership.
You will learn about effective communication and therapeutic relationships with patient groups and families.
This unit will cover topics such as cancer nursing for diverse communities and priority populations and transitions in care for people living with cancer.
