Synopsis
The emergency nurse requires diverse knowledge, skills and leadership capabilities to appropriately assess and manage patients effectively in the emergency department. This advanced emergency nursing unit builds upon your understanding of disease processes (pathophysiology) which underpin the assessment and contemporary emergency management of acute illness and injury states in the emergency department. The unit will prepare you to provide an advanced level of evidence-based care to emergency patients from all age groups with diverse socio-demographic characteristics.
