Overview

The key theme explored in this unit is Theme 3 – Nutrition Professional and Skills Development with integration of content from Theme 2 – Nutrition and Health. This unit uses the evidence-based approach to critically investigate contemporary issues in nutrition practice. Students may cover a broad range of current topics in nutrition including but not limited to nutritional psychology, interaction between nutrition and pharmacology, and sports nutrition. Students will also seek recent scientific evidence to support or disregard traditional practices related to nutrition.  The workload of this unit has an emphasis on student-led seminars and written arguments on prescribed topics.
