Overview
In this unit, you will develop advanced knowledge of contemporary perspectives of human activity, occupation, and occupational engagement from occupational science and occupational therapy literatures that inform occupation focused practices. You will review evidence from research related to time use, occupational balance, meaning-related and contextual influences on occupational engagement, occupational choice and identity over the lifespan to deepen your understanding of occupational engagement and its interrelationships with wellbeing. You will also critically reflect on and discuss how these concepts and evidence may be used in your practice to further advance person-centred, culturally relevant and occupation focused practice that promote the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities.
