Synopsis
In this unit, you will learn about the use of a standard approach to the assessment of a patient in paramedic care. This will include providing you with knowledge about the patient centred interview, measurement of key vital signs, and the use of key pieces of equipment.
You will learn about common risks inherent to the paramedic role, and will learn self-protection strategies. Further to this, you will learn about professional communication strategies with a specific focus on the theoretical and practical aspects of health communication. You will also be introduced to the concepts and rationale guiding the principles of by-stander cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
